ORCL Day Trade Recap: $190 to $197 Breakout from Pre-Market Scanner

May 8, 2026 - Post-Market Update

Market’s closed and we just banked ORCL. This is exactly why I run my scanner every morning at 8:49am EST.

If you got my free pre-market movers watchlist today, you know I focus on low float gappers and high ATR stocks. But today, a large cap showed up: ORCL.

How I Found ORCL on My Day Trading Scanner

ORCL didn’t show on the gappers list I sent at 8:49am. It popped on my mid-morning scanner for relative volume + MACD cross. This is why I teach traders to scan all day, not just pre-market.

Criteria that flagged ORCL:

  • Price action: Broke above $192 pre-market high with volume

  • Technical setup: Bullish MACD cross on the 5-minute chart at 9:50am

  • ATR: Daily ATR around $3.50 — enough range for day trading

  • Catalyst: AI infrastructure news hit at 10am, adding momentum

My ORCL Day Trading Plan + Execution

Here’s the exact 5-minute chart from my trade:

Entry: $192.20 area after it held above VWAP and the 9 EMA. See that green triangle on the chart? That’s my scanner alert.

Target: $197.00 resistance — that purple line on top. We hit $197.80 before pulling back.

Stop Loss Order: Under $191.80 — the dashed purple line. Never risk more than 1%.

MACD Confirmation: See the green histogram bars at 10:00am? That MACD (5,13,8) cross gave me confidence to hold for the full move to $197.

Result: $4.80 move = 2.5R trade if you risked 1% with a stop under $191.80.

Key Day Trading Levels for ORCL

For traders watching ORCL tomorrow, these are the levels that matter:

  • Resistance: $197.00 then $198.40

  • Support: $196.20 — red line where we closed, then $195.00

  • VWAP: Blue line around $194.60 — key for intraday trend

  • 9 EMA: Green line — held all day as dynamic support

If ORCL holds above $196.20 pre-market tomorrow, it could gap up again.

What This Means for Day Trading Strategy

  1. Don’t just trade pre-market gappers. Stocks like ORCL with news + volume mid-day can be better day trades than low float junk.

  2. Use MACD + EMAs: That 9 EMA green line + 20 EMA red line combo kept me in the trade.

  3. Trade the levels: We respected $192 support and $197 resistance exactly. Mark your charts pre-market.

daily watch list tier vs Discord: What You Missed

My 10.99 daily newsletter subs got the pre-market watchlist with PHOE, INOD, and CTNT.

My $50 Discord members got the live ORCL alert at 9:52am with exact entry, stop loss order, and target. They watched me scale out at $197 on Bookmap.

This is the difference: Free gets you the day trading watchlist. Paid gets you the live trades + scanner settings.
