Let’s be real—if you’re scalping on a 2-minute chart, every second actually matters. I used to use the standard MACD settings, but they’re just too slow for this timeframe. By the time you get a signal, the move is usually half over.

That’s why I moved to the 5-13-8 "Fast MACD." It’s been a total game-changer for my experience. It’s simple, it’s fast, and it catches the momentum before the rest of the crowd even wakes up.

The Strategy

  • The Entry: It’s straightforward. I’m looking for the Fast Line (5) to cross above the Signal Line (8).

  • The Setup: You can see it clearly in these CRCL and CRWV trades below. The MACD gave me the green light exactly as the volume started pouring in.

CRWV Chart

Taking Profits with the Camarilla Edge

I’m not a fan of "hoping" for a target. I use Camarilla Pivot Points because they act like high-probability walls. When the price hits these levels, I pay myself a portion of the trade.

Once I take those partial profits, I trail my stop loss along the 20 EMA. This lets the rest of the position run risk-free while I sit back and watch.

Risk Management: The "Seatbelt" Rule

I always say trading without a stop loss is like driving without a seatbelt—you’re just asking for a crash.

  • Where I put it: I place my stop loss just below the 20 EMA.

  • The logic: It gives the trade enough "room to breathe" without letting my account fall off a cliff. As the trade moves in my favor, I just trail that stop up the 20 EMA to lock in the gains.

🔄 What about Shorts?

Works exactly the same way, just flipped! Sell on the cross and trail your stop above the 20 EMA.
